There was a time when success and strength of a mission was measured by victories in a war. In today’s world there is a paradigm shift and now it is based upon as to how much of the world you can influence with economic growth and political-social development. Entangled in the past glories, we are surrounded ourselves with an era of fascination and self deception assumed a cozy role of silence spectators. Of course it suits the psyche well as it requires no effort and involves no motion. Reality is less romantic and without glamour. Our collective future therefore has scored a big question mark. We are at war with in ourselves and with each other, regionally, politically and socially. We must decide to face these realities and overcome others and liberate ourselves from stagnation and negativism. We recognize their weakness and fragility of our developing nation caught up in the basics of survival, but with collective engagement we do have the abililty to take concrete steps to set the winds of change in motion to become a progressive and pragmatic society. It will not be that far when we can stand side by side with dignity and respect alongside with comity of nations.
FOCUS PAKISTAN is a self sponsored, registered NGO of concerned citizen. It represents wake up call in this land of morbid silence where sense and sensibility has long being dormant. It is neither about war nor turmoil among our people nor for or against any sect. It is for self examination, reconciliation and to come to grips with virtual reality. It is a fallacy on our part to entrust the entire responsibility of a nation building to government functionaries and self-serving political leadership. Media alongwith civil society need to join hands and influence the decision making as many developed nations do. Ladies and gentleman of the media you are the one to bring the dawn and clear the darkness. You reach every corner, your transmissions climb every mountain and cross every ocean to mould the minds and influence the making of opinions. We do not need to succeed all the time but we do need to make efforts all the time.
Good governance, access to justice, elimination of corruption, transparent law and order is not only the need of our generation but a requirement of our future generations. We are a nation of great people who lost it’s track but given an opportunity and a level playing field we can retrieve our greatness. So do not loose the vision of our great leaders Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal and continue the mission set by Quaid-e-Azam towards a greater Pakistan.
On behalf of our executive committee, I appreciate your participation and thank you all for being with us. God bless you.
